Venkatesh Thiruganasambandamoorthy

Dr. Venkatesh (“Venk”)Thiruganasambandamoorthy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the School of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Ottawa,  and a Senior Scientist with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He is also a practicing emergency physician at The Ottawa Hospital.  His research has focused on the management of Syncope and chest pain in the Emergency department, which led to him developing the Canadian Syncope Risk Score, a risk-tool for syncope management which is being used widely. Venk will speak about his journey so far, the Canadian ED syncope research program he pioneered, and his vision for the future of emergency medicine in the age of “Dr Google.”
