
Karen Gripp
Dr. Karen Gripp is a pediatric emergency physician and associate professor within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, and currently works in a shared role as Section Head of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Medical Director of the Children’s Hospital Emergency Department. She received her medical degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1996 and completed her pediatric residency training at Johns Hopkins before obtaining additional training in pediatric critical care at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She has served as chair of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba Child Health Standards Committee, co-director of Pediatric Postgraduate Medical Education, and chair of the national Canadian Pediatric Program Director group and remains active in medical education as vice-chair of the Royal College Specialty Committee in Pediatrics. She is also a member of the Royal College Specialty Standards Review Committee and the Canadian Pediatric Society Acute Care Committee, and is the provincial director for the Trauma Resuscitation in Kids course and the University of Manitoba UGME Transition to Residency Leadership Curriculum.
