The Simulation Olympiad at CAEP is in its 6th year and the 2017 competition promises to be as exciting as ever! We invite teams from across the country to participate in interdisciplinary simulated resuscitation cases in front of an enthusiastic audience of their peers. The competition will be in a round-robin format, with eight teams competing in the preliminary round, four advancing to the semi-finals, and two teams participating in the final round. The Kingston Resuscitation Institute has generously contributed prize money for the top teams.

Learning Objectives:

  • Enhance knowledge of Canada’s end-of-life regulatory regime
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the evolving social contract between government, patients and health professionals on end-of-life care
  • Discuss the public’s expectations of treatment of end-of-life issues in an emergency setting
