The Simulation Olympiad at CAEP is in its 7th year and the 2018 competition promises to be as exciting as ever! We invite teams from across the country to participate in interdisciplinary simulated resuscitation cases in front of an enthusiastic audience of their peers. The competition will be in a single elimination format, with nine teams competing in the preliminary rounds, and three advancing to the final round. The Kingston Resuscitation Institute has generously contributed prize money for the top teams.
Preliminary competition: Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 09:00 – 12:00
Semi-finals and finals: Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 13:00 – 16:00
Teams must have four members and be composed of:
- At least two residents, only one of whom may be in PGY 3-5
- At least one non-resident member – these members can be medical students, nurses, respiratory therapists, or paramedics
Additionally each team must have a faculty coach to assist with preparation and performance. All team members must be registered for the conference.
Participation in the Simulation Olympiad is limited to nine teams. Automatic entry will be offered to the university in the location of the conference, teams who were turned away in 2017, as well as the winner(s) from the previous year. The remaining teams will be selected on a FIRST COME basis, so please register early. Teams who are unable to participate this year will be given automatic registration for the 2019 competition if they choose to participate.
To register a team please contact Jessica Montagner (firstname.lastname@example.org) and include the following information:
- Institution Name/Team Name
- Coach email address and cell phone number
- Team members names, professions, level of training
We look forward to seeing you in Calgary!
